 Athens
has a typically Mediterranean weather with
mild winters and dry and hot summers.
July and August are the hottest months with
average temperatures of 28°C but many
times, the temperature can soar above 40°C
(100°F).
The months of July and August are also characterised
by a strong wind blowing from the North called
"meltemi".
The temperature starts falling from September
and this period was characterised the last
years by some rainfalls.
The perfect time to visit Athens is in April
and May where the weather is warm enough and
sunny and the possibility of raining is minimal.
